Canvas Transfers

Canvas transfer from paper movie posters.

WHAT IS A CANVAS TRANSFER?

Canvas transfer is a sophisticated technique for transferring paper posters and art prints onto canvas. The result is a stunning artwork that simulates the rich look and feel of an original oil painting. (Not to be confused with our process of printing a digital image directly on canvas). The original paper poster is destroyed in the process, but what is left is a stunning artwork on canvas!

WHAT KINDS OF ARTWORK CAN BE TRANSFERRED ONTO CANVAS?

Most images printed with the exception of inkjet can be transferred. This includes (but is not limited to) posters and prints. Some paper however, does not work well during the transfer process.  If your unsure whether your image will work feel free to bring it to us to inspect.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The poster or print is coated with a special uv film that lifts the image from the paper and allows it to be sealed on the canvas using a vacuum heat press. The canvas is then finished with a non-gloss or semi gloss uv resistant coating and stretched over a wooden frame (stretcher bar) with a black canvas tape edge.

The result is a stunning work of art that maintains the texture of the canvas and simulates the richness of an original oil painting.

BENEFITS

  • Water/scratch resistant
  • U/V resistant to fading
  • Maintains the texture of the canvas
  • Cost efficient alternative to framing
